Camiguin to Cagayan de Oro

Camiguin is a small island (not really that small) which we were able to explore in a day. - You will have to familiarize the places to maximize your day trip (if you are planning to go to Cagayan de Oro the next day) - We took a plane from Cebu to Camiguin - the only trip of Cebu Pacific from Cebu to Camiguin (6:00 AM - 7:00 AM) - In the airport, you will be "horded" by Multicab drivers offering you a complete day tour of Camiguin, which ranges from 1200-1700 PHP. Luckily, we got ourselves a really good one, for 1200, who took us first to our resort, Medano Resort. We didn't really book our rooms ahead of time because it wasn't peak seasons, so we know there will be lots of rooms available.
ABOUT OUR RESORT: Medano Resort
So, this was our route. As you can see, it is approximately 15-20 minutes away from the airport. - Worry not about traffic, traffic does not exist here! - From the resort, 9 AM (after catching some quick nap) we headed to the famous Kawtibawasan Falls, which was the perfect place to get some chills. And before we could get ourselves some brunch (breakfast + lunch), we stopped over the Ostrich breeding farm - which also had some pigs, goats, ducks, etc.. - to get the chance to see some ostrich eggs (not the ostrich, hehe)
After taking brunch in Taguines lagoon seafood restaurant - has a very reasonable price & delicious set of menu - it took as approximately 40 minutes to get to the Sunken Cemetery. (We skipped the walkway to the old volcano and other springs and waterfalls because we would rather spend more time in a certain place than just simply dipping our toes into
the water - if you get what I mean - so that is why I advice you future-travelers-to-camiguin to set a destination plan)
Truth be told, you can't see any sunken bones and coffins there, because corals and marine life has completely overrun the place. So it was actually a bit of disappointment for me not being able to see such things, but, the sea is still worth snorkeling and we were very very lucky to have gotten ourselves a guide - which you will have to pay to transport you to the Big cross. Or you can rent a complete snorkeling gear + guide (AND ENVIRONMENTAL FEE) so you can enjoy the marine scenery more, which we skipped out - who made our short stop very enjoyable.
After then we went to the famous WHITE ISLAND - definitely a must visit to this white sandbar - and to Arduent Spring for a dip on their famous hot springs. FYI, its not boiling hot, its just warm enough for the chilly winds. Probably the warmest is around 36 degrees or so..
The next day, we had originally planned to do the River Rafting adventure + the Dahilayan Adventure Park activities in Cagayan de Oro, but unfortunately we failed to catch the first boat trip from Camiguin to Cagayan - first trip in Binoni Port is from 4:30 AM, but we even missed the second trip at 5:30 AM, so boo hoo... ohh... we rented the same Multicab for another 500 for that early morning transport from the hotel to Binoni Port - , so that left us with no choice but to give up the Rafting adventure, since it required 3-4 hours of activity - and we had to be in Cagayan port so we can catch the last Night trip bound for Cebu.

At around 10 AM, we arrived at Balingoan Port and rode a Van for CDO proper which took an hour. - Warning! Heavy Traffic in Cagayan city proper, so please be mindful of this when planning your schedule - From there, our Van transport, CDO Travelink Tours took us (first for drive through for lunch) and then directly to Dahilayan Adventure Park. - On our way was Del Monte's plantation which was really a site to see. -
So here is our simplified itinerary
Day 1:
7 AM ETA in Camiguin - 1050 PHP Airfare
8 AM Settled in Medano Resort - 1200 PHP (good for four people)
9:30 AM Katibawasan falls - 30 PHP Entrance Fee PAX
10:30 AM Ostrich Farm - 5 PHP Entrance fee
11:00 AM Lunch @ Taguines lagoon seafood restaurant
1:00 PM Sunken Cemetery - 100 PHP Boat Fee
2:00 PM White Island - 530 for four people.
3:00 PM Ardent Spring - 20 PHP Entrance FEE
4:00 PM Quick Stop at the Town Proper to buy food and Pastel ^_^
Day 2:
5:00 AM Pickup for Binoni Port
since we weren't able to catch the second trip (5:30 AM) we had to wait for the next one.
7:30 AM Depart from Binoni Port for Cagayan - 170 PHP Ticket + 15 PHP Terminal Fee
9:00 AM Balingoan Port - 100 PHP Van transport to CDO City Proper
11:00 AM Meet up with Travelink Tour Service - 2500 PHP Whole day Van service

^^ 안녕하세요, 저는 이 블로그를 운영하는 Mirai와 함께 Camiguin을 다녀온 Jinny입니다. ^^
간단한 여행정보를 알려드리자면~
저는 9월 6일에 세부에서 Cebu Pacific을 타고 까미긴에 갔답니다. ^^ 프로모션 가격으로 인당 1050페소에 항공권을 구입했어요~!
작은 섬이라 때묻지 않은 순박한 시골같았고, 관광객이 많지는 않았고
더군다나 한국인은 저랑 제 일행 밖에 없는 것 같았어요 ㅎㅎㅎ
여행 일정 순서대로는 아니지만, 기억나는 대로 간단히 후기 남깁니다. ^^
까미긴으로 가는 비행기에서 내려다 본 바다 중, 아주 작은 섬?도 아닌 모래언덕이 보였어요
알고보니 거기가 화이트 아일랜드(White Island)였어요...
세부에서 여러 군데 아일랜드 호핑가며 에메랄드빛 바다를 봤지만...
까미긴의 화이트 아일랜드는 저의 인생바다라고 해도 과언이 아닐 것 같네요.
4명에서 530페소 들었답니당. 5300페소라도 다시 가고 싶네여..
그리고 Sunken cemetery도 갔었는데, 엄청 유쾌하신 분(바다 가운데(그리 멀진 않지만) 세워져있는 Cemetery
를 보려면 작은 통통배?를 타고 가야하는데 그걸 몰고 가주시는 분이세여..)을 만나
환상적인 사진도 찍고, 또 그 곳에 대한 여러 정보도 알려주셨답니다. ^^
그곳은 과거에 공동묘지였는데요, Camiguin이 화산섬이라 화산이 터졌을 때 그 공동묘지 위로 용암이 흘렀다고 해요.
지금은 세월이 많이 흘러서 그 위에 다시 산호가 생기고 해서 왠지 으스스할 줄 알았는데 괜찮았어요.
그 유쾌하신 분께서 너무 무서워 말라고 ㅋㅋ double dead해서 괜찮다고 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ안심시켜 주셨네요.
보트 비용은 100페소였고 저희는 팁까지 150P정도 드렸어요 :) 되게 친절하시고 멋진 사진을 남겨 주셔서 잊지 못할 것 같네요.
그리고 Katibawasan 폭포에도 갔었는데요, 시원하게 뻗은 물줄기를 보며 물놀이도 하고 좋았어요
저는 수영을 못해서 마음껏 놀진 못했는데 성인 남자가 발이 닿지 않을 정도의 약간 깊은 부분도 있으니
구명조끼나 튜브가 있었으면 하는 아쉬움이 남네요. 너무 아름답고 물도 깨끗해서 다시 한번가서
놀고 싶네요 ㅠㅜㅜ 조용하고 너무 좋았어요! 입장료는 인당 30P!!!
Ardent Spring이라는 온천도 갔는데 우리나라에서 하는 온천처럼 그런 뜨끈한 온천 생각하시면 안되여~
미지근한 정도? 그런데 온천물 안에 있다가 젖은 몸으로 내려오는데 그래도 나름 따듯했던지 바람맞으니 너무 추웠어요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
입장료는 인당 20페소였습니다~!
타조 농장도 잠깐 들렀는데 입장료는 5P였습니당~~
소, 말, 돼지, 염소, 닭, 칠면조? 많은 동물 들이 있었어요~
시내에 들러 유명한 베이커리가 있어서 들렀는데 저는 빵을 안 좋아해서 사진 않았어요 ^_^
대신 public market에서 정말 잘 익은 망고를 8개에 140페소인가? 사서 맛있게 먹었어요
이 망고가 저의 인생망고 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
우기에는 망고가 철이 아니라나요... 그렇다고 아예 못 먹는건 아니지만 세부 시티 내에서는 찾기 힘든 수준의 최상의 망고였어요!
숙소는 Medano resort였고, 4명에서 1200페소 들었네요. 침대가 3개있었지만 저흰 연결해서 4명에서 뒤엉켜서 잘 잤어요
전날 과음에.. 수면부족이라 5성급 호텔에서 보다 잘 잤네요~ ^^;;;;;; 세상모르고 잤어요..
(근데 밤새 내린 비에 2층이었는데도 불구하고 바닥에 물이 찼어요 백팩이 다 젖어서 옷이고 뭐고 짐이 다 젖었답니다 ㅠㅜㅜ
까미긴에는 씨티처럼 시설 좋은 숙박시설은 없는 듯 해요. 그래도 비가 오면 물이 고이리라고는 생각도 못했는데..
언제 어딜가도 여행에서는 백팩과 함ㄲㅔ 자기로 결심했답니다 ㅠㅜ
다음날 저희는 Binoni항구에서 아침 7시 30분 출발 배를 타고 Cagayan으로 떠났습니당~~~!
첫배는 그보다 더 빠른 시간에도 있는데(새벽 5시 30분~) 아침에 일어나서 젖은 백팩을 보고 멘붕이와서 이리저리 챙기느라
예상보다 늦게 출발했어요 ㅜㅡ
뱃값은 170페소 + 터미널 요금 15페소!
배가 플라스틱 벤치?같은 의자로 가는데................. 엄청 불편했어요 ㅠㅠ 에어컨 없음!
카가얀에 도착해서 밴을 타고 CDO 씨티로 가는데 한사람당 100P였구요
꽤 오래갔어요 ! 11시에 저희 일행만을 위한 van으로 갈아타고 투어를 시작했구요
비용은 2500페소!

원래 카가얀에선 래프팅이랑 여러 액티비티를 해봐야한다고 하는데
안타깝게도 제가 간 날은 비가 오기도 했고, 첫배를 놓쳐서 간 바람에 래프팅은 포기했어요 ㅠㅜ
제가 갔던 Dahilayan 어드벤쳐 파크에서는 아시아에서 손에 꼽히는 zip ride을 체험하실 수 있고, dropzone도 있답니다^^
전 겁도 너무 많고 그날 컨디션이 좀 안따라줘서 dropzone만 체험했는데요~~~
잔뜩 겁먹고 탔는데 ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ 정말 재밌게 잘 탔어요 ^^
액티비티 요금에 관한 정보는 Dahilayan의 공식 웹사이트에서 확인 가능합니당~
어드밴처 파크가 엄청 높은곳에 있고, 내려오는 길에 엄청나게 넓은 파인애플 농장이 있었는데요
거기가 델몬트에서 운영하는 파인애플 농장이라고 하더라구요~ 규모가 엄청났어요
그곳이 바로 교과서에서만 보고 듣던 플렌테이션 농업이 이뤄지는 곳이더군요~! 백문이 불여일견.^^
4시경에 CDO 포트로 출발해서 6시 정도에 도착했구요, 항구 내에 작게 딸려있는 구내식당이랄까 거기서 간단히 저녁을 먹었어요.
배에도 간단한 레스토랑이 있다고 해서~~~
뱃값은 인당 900페소에 terminal fee가 15P 정도????? 였는데 정확히 기억이 안나네요 ㅠㅜ
사방이 뻥 뚫린 배에서 ㅋㅋ 바닷바람을 맞으며 밤새 세부를 향해 갔네요
물티슈 같은걸 준비하셔서 한번 닦고 이용하시길 권해드리구요
저는 가장자리 문쪽이라 지나다니느 사람도 많았고, 그 앞에서 흡연하시는 분들 때문에 좀 불편했네요
윗층으로 올라 올라 가시면 작은 레스토랑이 있어요
간단한 바베큐와 맥주 한잔 마시고 바닷바람 좀 쐬다가 내려왔네요~
못 씻었는데다 바닷바람까지 맞아서 엄청 거지꼴을 하고 다녔어요 ^^;;;;;;;;;;
하지만 너무 피곤해서 또 골아떨어졌다는... ^^ (참 잘 자요... 좋은거겠죠...? ㅋㅋㅋ)
일행 중 친구 한명은 새벽 4시경에 잠이 깨서 갑판?으로 올라가서 밤하늘을 봤는데
망망대해라서 그런지 별이 엄청나게 많아서 아름다웠다고 하네요~~~ (왜 저를 안 깨우고 혼자만 봤을까요..)
새벽 5~6시 경에 세부의 1부두(Pier 1)에 도착했습니다...
두서없는 긴 글에 불과하지만, 작은 도움 드리고픈 마음에 주저리 주저리 썼네요~~
일정상 제가 별로 시간이 없어서 다소.. 빡세고 빡쎈.. 여행이긴 했는데
글을 쓰고 보니 그마저도 추억이네요.
