Tips and Advice
If you are viewing this post, you are most likely planning a trek to Osmeña Peak, and I'm sure you have seen several information in the internet. So I will just leave you with the most essential information before you set out to your journey =]

FYI
1. You can stay for an overnight camp in Opeak.
2. There is no entrance fee. You just have to pay for your transportation to the foot of the peak and ANOTHER fee back to the town.
3. By the time you reach the foot of the peak, you can see many children offering to help you transport or guide your way up. Make sure to give them a tip.
4. There are no toilets. (Except at the foot of the peak) Unless you plan on climbing down again, you better be ready of the idea that you have to do your business in the grasses there ^^.
5. No garbage bins. So bring your own trash bag and be decent enough to keep your own trash.
6. If you are planning to grill, find a spot that already has been used for grilling. We dont want to ruin the place full of black spots from grilling. Or bring a portable stove to do your cooking.
7. Keep yourself warm. It will be bloody cold in the morning. So don't pack like your going to the beach (unless you want to jusy stay there for the day)
8. You can buy food (cooked and uncooked) in the market before going up
9. If by any chance you arrive there when the sun has gone down, yes, you can still go up as long as someone is still willing to transport you there. (We started to trek around 6PM)
10. It IS NOT just like a walk in the park for none trekkers like me. If you have a sedentary lifestyle, then be sure not to bring heavy loads (or better yet pay one of the guides to help you). It is manageable, but if you lack exercise, you're pretty sure to take a break once in a while before you reach the top.

And always,
Leave nothing but footprints.
Take nothing but pictures.

Please be responsible with your trash
enjoy!!

  9. Hello Guys!

2nd time in south cebu but just a lil idea with this Osmeña peak. We have our own suv/van. Can we take that to the entrance instead of leaving the van in the dalaguete town proper/marketplace? That would be a saving cost too from habal habal thanks! :)

  10. haven't seen SUVs up there, though the road has been cemented and surely an SUV can fit, I'm just not sure if it's allowed to pass there

  11. Are there any tent for rent in osmena peak? How can we get to kawasan falls by bus? We have a toddler and motorcycle ride won't be a good option.. help pls

    1. I guess there is a tent for rent, im not sure how much. But it was 100 per tent if u stay overnight. Just bring one to be sure. From Opeak to kawasan, usually people trek 4-6 hrs going there. Im not sure of another route because Mantalongon (where the foot of Opeak is) is on the opposite side of Alegria ( where kawasan is)

So i am guessing you have to ride a bus back to Carcar where you can ride another bus that will bring you to Alegria.
I am not sure if there is a shortcut though, if there is, its probably by motorbike
